In a futuristic Japan, a conglomerate of 12 corporations rule society with the help of genetically modified psychics who maintain law and order by using their supernatural abilities. Teenager Kai works as one of these peacekeeping psychics (known as E's) for a special forces team run by the Ashurum corporation. But when Kai is sent on a mission to destroy a rebel faction bent on overthrowing the corporate establishment, he begins to question his employer's motives and joins the resistance--while worrying about his sickly younger sister Hikaru, who is still within Ashurum's clutches. Produced by the team behind SAIYUKI and directed by Masami Shimoda, the sci-fi Anime series E'S OTHERWISE fashions a dystopic take on human evolution. This collection includes episodes 6-10.

Lung will do anything to stop his baby girl from growing up. A well-known martial arts writer, Lung spends most of his time worrying about his daughter, Sophia. After he find out that Sophia has a thing for her boss, the famed bad boy Frankie, he will stop at nothing to keep them apart. The famous Hong Kong comedian Michael Hui hilariously portrays Lung, whose attempts to shelter Sophia (pop star Miriam Yeung) from man-about-town Frankie (Lau Ching Wan) provides much merriment.

Oleanna (DVD)
Indicative of the fears of the decade that produced it but also dramatizing the eternal miscommunication between the sexes, OLEANNA is the first of his own plays to be directed for the screen by David Mamet. The film version retains the play's unity of place as well as its cast of two, but these limitations produce a claustrophobia that suits the subject matter perfectly. The plot is set in motion by a simple student-teacher conference between student Carol (Debra Eisenstadt) and John (William H. Macy), her professor. The two talk, interrupt, move around, see something of each other's private life, and then the conference ends; but soon the details of this meeting are under the closest scrutiny. In its aftermath, Mamet shows that sexual harassment is a complicated affair, hinging on different perspectives, motivations, and desires.
